WELCOME TO PÚCA PILATES, BATH
“You will feel better in ten sessions, look better in twenty sessions, and have a completely new body in thirty sessions.”
Welcome to Púca Pilates — my calm and uplifting home studio set in the heart of Bath, UK.
My aim is simple: to help you feel stronger and more connected to your body. Whether you’re completely new to Pilates or looking to deepen your practice, my studio offers a supportive and comfortable space to move at your own pace and rediscover what your body is capable of.
Why ‘Púca’?
Inspired by the Irish mythological ‘púca’ or shape-shifters—Púca Pilates celebrates transformation. Pilates has the power to shift the way you move, how you feel, and how you approach everyday life. Small, consistent changes lead to lasting results.
Why ‘Classical’ Pilates?
Classical Pilates is a system designed by Joseph Pilates in the early 20th century. Its purpose was to build strength, control and mind body awareness. It involves practice on a whole host of traditional apparatus including the reformer, tower and wunda chair, to name but a few. The classical method, alongside its equipment and specific sequencing ensures a balanced workout, that focuses on uniform development of the body, helping to tackle muscular imbalances and injury prevention.
Meet the Teacher
Miriam is a classically trained Pilates teacher, and since completing her comprehensive certification in 2018, she has taught clients of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities. She has developed a reputation for thoughtful classes that emphasise the mind–body–spirit connection and focus on correct form, flowing movement, and a whole-body workout (with a few giggles along the way).
Having experienced the profound impact of the classical method in her own body and mind, Miriam is keen to share it with others. She has extensive experience supporting clients recover from serious injuries and surgeries, including hip replacements, as well helping new and expectant mothers navigate changing bodies pre and post partum.
When She’s Not Teaching
When Miriam isn’t at the studio, she can usually be found nursing a lukewarm flat white, chasing her children and Freddie, the border terrier around the park. She loves practicing yoga, running for charitable causes such as Medical Aid for Palestinians, and travelling—often extensively—to continue her Pilates education with master teachers around the world.
“Change happens through movement and movement heals.”
